Namebench: An All New Tool From Google To Get Faster DNS Servers
One of the sorest concerns of all internet users who would prefer nothing better than a high speed internet connection, is the DNS server that basically works as an address book for our internet connections. Now, a new tool has been introduced by Thomas Stromberg, an engineer from Google Inc. that scans the available DNS servers and then suggest the best and the fastest one for the users to take advantage of. This new tool is called, Namebench and the program is designed and developed to run on Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS X and Linux operating systems.
The all new Namebench is built with an extremely simple user interface and also carried a command line console for advanced users. In the user interface, once the application is up and running, check the drop down bar, that gives you the option of running the DNS server test using the web browser that you would prefer. Once you have made the choice, simply click on the “Start Benchmark” button and then wait. The results of the test is are shown in a browser windows, where in the three best DNS servers are shown along with analysis of the test.
In the spirit of open sources, Namebench tool is also completely open source and the developer has infact requested for user feedback and for any updates to the tools that would make it more useful.
